10 Disney Animated Deaths That Scarred You For Life

9. Henry (The Good Dinosaur)

Bing Bong Death
Pixar

The Good Dinosaur wasn't anywhere near the level of quality we've come to expect from Pixar, but it had its moments, and this was one of them. The movie follows a young Apatosaurus named Arlo, who's struggling to live up to the expectations his family have of him. When Arlo fails to complete a job his father (Henry) sets for him, the pair head off into the wilderness, only to be cornered by a storm that sweeps Henry away to his death.

Henry wants Arlo to kill a human boy who's been raiding their food supply, but Arlo gets cold feet, setting the trapped human free instead of bashing it over the head with a wooden club. As a result, an angry Henry takes Arlo into the forest to track down the human and finish the job, leading to his untimely death.

This one is difficult to swallow because deep down... we know it's Arlo's fault. Sure, the movie tries to convince you otherwise, but if he'd just killed the human when he had the chance none of this would've happened! As a result, Arlo's family is left struggling to round up enough food to see them through the winter, and it's difficult to watch them quickly fall apart without the presence of an adult male.

When The Good Dinosaur ends you'll almost resent Arlo, with his ineptness causing a kind, loving father and husband to be taken before his time. You may not remember the rest of the movie but this moment will stick with you, because it illustrates one thing that most adults will quickly come to understand: life isn't fair.
