10 Disney Movie Mistakes You Can't Unsee
7. The Boat Ride - The Little Mermaid
It's perfectly fine for an animated movie to have minor mistakes here and there. Most of them are so quick, the average viewer won't notice them. Sadly, Disney have a habit of placing flagrant flubs in key scenes.
In The Little Mermaid, Ariel has given up her voice and her life as a mermaid to be with a man called Eric. Ariel must receive "true love's kiss" within three days to become permanently human.
While Eric rows his boat through a lake with Ariel, her friends try to create the perfect romantic date. As the birds sing and fireflies illuminate the flamingo-filled waters, Eric finally plucks up the courage to kiss the beautiful girl in front of him.
While this iconic scene plays out, some viewers are distracted by something else; where did Eric's oars go? He was just rowing a minute ago. How is he going to get back to dry land? If you think the oars are just obscured, there is a shot from above that shows the interior of the boat and it's clear the oars are nowhere to be seen.
