10 Disney Movie Mistakes You Can't Unsee

8. Where Does Hans' Sword Come From? - Frozen

Tangled Mistake
Disney

In the climax for Frozen (spoilers if you somehow didn't see one of the most famous films ever), Hans reveals that he intends to kill Queen Elsa so he can seize the throne of Arendelle. As Elsa lies helpless before him, he draws his blade and prepares to kill her.

There's just one tiny problem. Where did Hans' sword come from? As the villain marches towards Elsa, we clearly see he's unarmed. We then hear the sound of a weapon being unsheathed. In the next shot, Hans is holding a massive sword. Where was it before? Was it invisible? Does he have magical abilities like Elsa?

There are two very easy ways to correct this snafu. The animators could have drawn in a sheath or a scabbard in the shot before Hans reveals his sword. If that was too much effort, they could have drawn Hans with a dagger instead of a sword.

A little knife could easily fit underneath his cloak but there is absolutely no way he could have been carrying that weapon around the whole time without it being visible at some point.
