4. Bowler Hat Guy Just Has Crippling Emotional Issues
DisneyOK, even before the Bowler Hat Guy's true identity is revealed and he is redeemed, how could you legitimately hate this guy? He's just a sad little two-bit villain whose ideas never seem to work out, and is constantly bullied by the significant more clever and malevolent baddie. All of the Bowler Hat Guy's actions come from a place of desperation and bitterness rather than a genuine desire to hurt people, so you feel bad for him more than anything else. Seriously, we just wanted to give him a hug and tell him that everything's going to be alright. And then after you realize that the Bowler Hat Guy is none other than Michael Yagoobian, the adult version of Lewis's roommate at the orphanage, he becomes the character in the film who is most deserving of the audience's sympathy. When something bad happened to him, he either had to move on from it or dwell, and he chose to let his resentment fester inside of him until he became a physically crooked and broken man. Poor little Goob. He's often listed as one of the villains of Meet the Robinsons, but you can't watch this movie and come away from it thinking he's a bad guy.
