10 Disturbing Things Found In The Background Of Horror Movies

1. Michael’s Car - Halloween

What people tend to forget about proto-slasher Halloween is that, for a large chunk of the picture, not much actually happens.

After baby Michael murders his sister, he doesn't really interact with the other characters until about an hour in. But that doesn't mean his presence isn't still felt across the town of Haddonfield.

In a brilliantly tasty piece of foreshadowing, Michael makes the briefest of brief cameos in a scene featuring his former psychiatrist Dr. Samuel Loomis. As Loomis is talking to Sheriff Brackett about his escaped patient, a beige-coloured car pulls up in the distance.

Then, as Brackett leaves, the car drives past the psychiatrist. If you squint your eyes, you'll be able to make out the famously blank expression of Michael Myers' white mask behind the wheel.

This is genius. Not only is it incredibly subtle, but it's also a great indicator of just how in control Michael actually is. He's not just a mindless killing machine; he's smart and he knows exactly what he's doing.

He's got a leg up on his enemies the entire time, which is the scariest part about him.

Ok, maybe second scariest after the giant knife. That thing is pretty terrifying.
