Veteran British broadcaster and naturalist David Attenborough has inspired generations with his spectacular documentaries that show both the beautiful and brutal aspects of the natural world.

However, the BBC's 2016 series Planet Earth II, presented Attenborough and scored by Hans Zimmer, is almost certainly the stand-out series of his career, as well as being one of the most expensive documentaries ever produced with production spanning nearly 10 years.

Comprising of 6 individual episodes that each present a different habitat, Planet Earth II took advantage of the vast improvements in technology since its predecessor, 2006's Planet Earth, and provides breathtaking up-close and aerial shots of the natural world and the animals that inhabit it in glorious 4K Ultra-HD.

Upon its release, it received unanimous critical praise as one of the greatest documentary series of all time and was nominated for a whole host of awards, as well as currently residing at the top of IMDB's 'Top 250 Rated TV Shows' list.
