10 Do’s and 10 Don’ts For Choosing What Movie To Watch Tonight

9. Do Choose the Right People

A huge part of the movie going experience whether you're alone, with people you love, or surrounded by annoying tweens who simply cannot go two minutes without texting or liking everything on Facebook. You have to know your friends and the kind of people that are going to be joining you on your cinematic adventure. Going to go watch Wreck-It-Ralph on opening night? Check again because you'll be bombarded with whining, crying, and incessant giggling at unfunny moments. Why? Probably because most parents think taking their kid to a movie will shut 'em up for two hours so they can take a nap. Going to go watch Tree of Life? Convinced your girlfriends that since Brad Pitt's in it, there's a good chance he'll take his shirt off? You better make sure because if he doesn't, a lot of restless moving around and sighing will follow ensuring a 85% probability rate that you'll never watch a Terrence Malick movie again. If you want to watch a Pixar movie, go during a school night. If you want to watch a pretentious art house flick, go by yourself or grab a hipster off the street if you're feeling lonely. So choose wisely because in this case, majority rules.

I'm a thinker/fantasizer who writes down his thoughts and fantasies hoping it makes sense to everyone else. Also I'm an aspiring screenwriter, but if I can work in film at all, I'd be happy. One day you may hear the name Ryan Kim and associate it with "Academy Award winning writer" or with "where's that guy with my coffee." If the latter comes true, please let it be Paul Thomas Anderson's coffee I'm getting.
