10 Dream MCU Projects Disney Will (Probably) Never Make

The X-Men are on their way to the MCU, and - ignoring all the ethical ramifications of the Disney-Fox merger - it's pretty great.

Jean Grey, Cyclops, Storm and all the other mutants Fox couldn't do right are hopefully on their way to an authentic adaptation in the next few years (just so long as Marvel don't follow the Endgame writers' suggestions of how to introduce them), and it's more than fair to say that they could be just as huge as the Avengers have proven to be since 2012.

But even though there's bound to be a bunch of X-Men sequels and spin-offs aplenty, it's very unlikely that Marvel will ever produce a film centred around one of their many splinter groups. Fox sanctioned the New Mutants the other year, but that's about as far away as you can get from what the original team were all about, with the film instead shaping up to be a comic book horror movie of sorts.

This makes it twice as unlikely that any group like X-Force, X-Factor, or - the coolest of them all - Excalibur will ever make it to the big screen. There's just no point in diluting the brand, even if it would obviously be amazing to see a Betsy Braddock-fronted line-up where she's the new Captain Britain.
