10 Dumb Decisions In Horror Movies That Got The Villain Killed

2. Burke Tries To Save The Murderous Xenomorphs - Aliens

Scream 5
20th Century Studios

Aliens begins with Ellen Ripley being released from cryostasis by the Weyland-Yutani corporation. While speaking to the head rep, Carter Burke, she learns the company is terraforming the Xenomorphs' homeworld.

Despite Ripley's pleas to blow the exomoon to kingdom come, Burke carries on with the mission, leading to many deaths. Not only that, Ripley learns Burke was aware of the danger the Xenomorphs posed, but sent his men in regardless, hoping to turn the eggs into biological weapons.

Despite seeing how uncontrollable the extra-terrestrials are, Burke attempts to impregnate Ripley and Newt with facehuggers, so he can smuggle the embryos to Earth. Karma comes with a vengeance shortly after, as Burke is ripped to shreds by one of the aliens he was trying so hard to profit from.

It's easy to see why Burke is one of the most hated movie villains of the 1980s. Despite having a top job in the largest conglomerate in the galaxy, he goes out of his way to put innocent lives at risk, including children, just to make a quick buck. He's so brazen at endangering those around him and toying with these volatile creatures, it's a miracle Burke didn't die sooner.
