10 Dumb Decisions In The MCU We Can't Forgive

5. Tying Spider-Man Too Closely To Iron Man

Spider-Man and Iron Man have a history of being close friends in the comic books (up until the events of Civil War, anyway), so it made sense to make Tony Stark a mentor to Peter Parker in the MCU. Unfortunately, that ended up going a little too far, and the web-slinger ended up feeling a little too much like Iron Man Jr. at times.

It doesn't help that all the villains he's faced have a history with Stark, and the only real reason Spidey has squared off with them is because they wanted to get revenge on Iron Man (The Vulture hated him because he formed Damage Control, and Mysterio was a disgruntled former Stark Industries employee).

At this point, it's just getting silly, and something we're hoping won't be the case in Spider-Man 3. For example, if Kraven the Hunter is the movie's big bad, we really don't want to learn that he once went hunting with Tony's dad! There are better ways to make Spider-Man part of the MCU, and now Iron Man is dead, it's definitely time to move on.
