10 Dumb Decisions In The MCU We Can't Forgive

6. Ant-Man And The Wasp Not Being Founding Avengers

While it's perfectly understandable that the formation of The Avengers was different on the big screen than what we saw in the comic books, there's something the vast majority of fans will probably never be able to forgive Marvel Studios for. We are, of course, referring to the fact Ant-Man and The Wasp weren't founding members of the superhero team.

They were completely M.I.A. in the 2012 release, and that's because Marvel Studios had, at the time, decided to allow Edgar Wright to put his own spin on the characters. The fact the Hot Fuzz helmer was going to tell a story featuring the iconic duo in the MCU made this somewhat more palatable...until the studio decided his vision wasn't the right fit!

By wanting to shoehorn in references to the wider MCU, Marvel Studios alienated the filmmaker, and the entire reason Ant-Man and The Wasp weren't in The Avengers was gone. Now, Hank Pym and Janet Van Dyne are an elderly couple, and their entire history with the rest of Earth's Mightiest Heroes has been completely overlooked as a result.
