10 Dumbest Decisions In DCEU History
7. Task Force X
This isn’t to say that the Suicide Squad in itself was a stupid idea. In fact, in the right circumstances, the team could turn out to be incredibly useful, like on Corto Maltese and even in Midway City when they extracted Amanda Waller from potential danger.
However, the first iteration of the team was sold as being capable of defending the world against the next Superman, should they ever decide to fly to the White House and kill the President. It’s hard to put into words how poor of an idea that was.
And yet, the US government approved it, willing to put the life of their President in the hands of Waller and a bunch of criminals. Not one of them could have ever stood toe to toe with the likes of Superman or Zod, and should the day have ever come that they had to, Waller would have been left with a little more than egg on her face.
The only being that may have stood a chance against something other-worldly was Enchantress, but Waller and Flag were so reckless in their manipulation of June Moon’s demon alter ego, that she became the very thing the team had to stop. This plan was all over the place from the get go, really.
