10 Dumbest Decisions In Spider-Man Movies

7. Tony Kept Ignoring Peter Despite His Actionable Intelligence

Tom Holland made his Spider-Man debut in the MCU via Captain America: Civil War, and he was recruited into that fight by Tony Stark. That interaction established a close working relationship between the two heroes, and it also instilled a mentor/mentee relationship between Tony and Peter.

When it finally came time for Holland's own film, Spider-Man: Homecoming revealed a superhero who was, in many ways, a freshman. He worked in and around his neighborhood, and primarily dealt with street-level threats. This was largely due to his inexperience and age, but those issues aside, Spider-Man is a highly capable superhero.

Tony Stark saw him at this point in his career as what he was: a young man with a great deal of power and a chip on his shoulder. Seeing as Stark was at the highest-level of superhero work in the world, he didn't feel that Peter was ready for the primetime fights he handled on the day-to-day.

All that being said, Tony was extremely dismissive of everything Peter warned him about. He had actionable intel about what Toomes and his gang were doing (in his neighborhood, mind you), but Tony completely disregarded him. Had he listened, his cargo plane wouldn't have been compromised, and Pete wouldn't have had such a tough go of things.
