10 Dumbest Decisions In Zombie Movie History

4. Barbara Lets Her Zombie Brother Drag Her Off - Night Of The Living Dead

"They're coming to get you, Barbara," Barbara's (Judith O'Dea) brother Johnny (Russell Streiner) taunts in the opening moments of Romero's 1968 classic Night of the Living Dead.

He was right, but the fact that Barbara follows up his joke by walking straight into the path of the graveyard zombie makes her minimal survival prospects clear from the outset.

Sadly Barbara proves herself no more smart by film's end, becoming locked in fear as zombies overrun the farmhouse she and Ben (Duane Jones) are holed up inside.

Upon catching sight of her reanimated brother, Barbara puts up no resistance as he drags her into the mass of the undead, where she's presumably devoured.

If we're being totally fair to Barbara she's very clearly shown to be suffering from PTSD throughout, spending much of the film in a catatonic state and all, but it doesn't mean audiences are any less likely to be exasperated by her failure to affect her own survival.
