1. Daniels Doesn't Check "Walter's" Identity - Alien: Covenant
Hindsight is 20:20, and it certainly was for Alien: Covenant's Ripley-esque new hero Daniels (Katherine Waterston), who gets tricked by malevolent android David (Michael Fassbender) in such an hilariously transparent way as to almost "earn" her grim fate.
In the third act, Daniels' own android, Walter (also Michael Fassbender), saves Daniels from being attacked by David, leading to an epic android fight between the two.
The outcome of the fight is never shown, though at the end "Walter" meets up with Daniels and the other survivors to evacuate the planet, telling her that he incapacitated David.
But in the film's final scene, in a twist just about everybody watching saw coming a mile away, Daniels and fellow survivor Tennessee (Danny McBride) are put into stasis as "Walter" reveals to Daniels that he is in fact David, having destroyed Walter and assumed his identity.
Given that Daniels literally sees not-Walter with a cut face and tending to his wounds when he boards the escape craft - despite Walter having a more advanced healing factor - it's baffling that she doesn't notice the deception, nor even make a basic inquiry to confirm the android's identity.
