A lot of the rumours surrounding the next Batman movie are keen to dismiss the idea that Ben Affleck is really playing Bruce Wayne; despite him being confirmed for nearly two years now. The wild speculation isn't a shock, as any movie this big is going to attract a lot of hearsay, with people desperate to uncover clues hidden in plain sight. One of the more baffling rumours is that Jeremy Irons isnt playing Alfred at all; but an older, retired Bruce Wayne who has passed the Batman legacy down to Ben Afflecks character. As Irons has said his version of the butler will be a bit more hands-on, some fans have twisted his words to mean that hes not playing Alfred at all. Everything thats been released about the movie confirms that Affleck is definitely playing Bruce Wayne, so this idea can be debunked straight out of the gate. As for Irons comments, it likely means that Alfred may have a fight or two, not that hell don the batsuit at some point.
