After years stranded in development hell Deadpool has finally gotten his own movie, after some fairly shoddy treatment in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. With a sequel already announced and several promotional videos online, the studio is keen to spread Deadpool around as much as they can. With that, speculation is rife that Deadpool will cameo in the forthcoming X-Men: Apocalypse, which is unlikely for a few reasons. For one thing, the next X-Men movie will be set in eighties while Deadpool will be modern-day; meaning the timelines wont match up. Theres also the sticky issue of continuity, as Deadpool/Wade Wilson has already appeared in a horrible way in the X-Men series already. If he comes back as the updated version, theyll just make the timeline even messier then it already is. Theres a tiny chance he could appear in some kind of fourth wall breaking moment, which would be out of place in a straight forward X-Men movie. So no, Deadpool is likely to be sticking to his own movies for now.
