4. Martin Freeman Will Be Playing The Red Skull In Civil War
Martin Freemans role in the next Captain America has been kept quiet; suspiciously quiet. If he was just playing a supporting role it's odd that Marvel wouldnt just reveal his name, leaving fans free to speculate wildly about the nature of his role. An oddly popular theory is that hes playing a reincarnation of Captain Americas old enemy Red Skull, who was last seen being dissolved by The Tesseract. As Hugo Weaving has stated he only played the character for the money and he doesnt want to return, this leaves the role open for another actor to come in and reinvent. The only thing thats known about Freemans role is that his character works for the Government, helping them tame people with superpowers. Fans think that Red Skull might have infiltrated this group and is working from within to destroy his old enemy. The theory has some credibility, but it wont happen as Martin Freeman isnt nearly threatening enough to play an iconic villain, and Mark Millar who wrote the storyline for the Civil War comic has said outright that Freeman definitely wont be playing The Red Skull.
