5. When She Didn’t Mention Fiendfyre Could Destroy Horcruxes – The Deathly Hallows
One of Harry’s biggest obstacles in The Deathly Hallows was finding a way to destroy Horcruxes. Though Gryffindor’s sword was left to him in Dumbledore’s will, it was a long time before he was able to lay his hands on it.
As such, an alternative method of destroying Horcruxes would have been invaluable for Harry. Yet Hermione never suggested Fiendfyre during the trio’s quest in The Deathly Hallows.
Her excuse was that such a spell was too dangerous, but that still doesn’t explain why she didn’t even mention to Harry or Ron that she knew another way of destroying Horcruxes.
If she had, they may well have thought differently about her objection to using the spell, which in turn could have led to Voldemort’s Horcruxes being destroyed far more efficiently.
