10 Dumbest Predictions About Star Wars: The Force Awakens

2. Rey Turns Evil

It would be great to see our first female Sith Lord in the movies, but the fan theories that Daisy Ridley€™s Rey could fulfil that role seem a little unfounded. From everything we€™ve seen in the trailers, Rey is more of a Luke Skywalker type €“ coming from humble beginnings, staring off into the sunset wistfully and eventually being whisked off on an amazing adventure. Admittedly, it would be one hell of a twist to take that character and turn her into a villain. Minds can be meddled with in the Star Wars universe, after all, so any change of allegiance is possible if the writer€™s want it to be. However, The Force Awakens arguably needs a few solid heroes to set the new film series in motion. The executives at Disney and Lucasfilm will want some young, appealing heroes for audiences young and old to engage with and emotionally invest in. To start the new saga with a huge change of allegiance from a principle character could be considered a big risk. For that reason, I€™m filing the idea of Rey as a villain under €˜unlikely.€™ At least for this film, Daisy Ridley will be on the side of the angels (in my opinion).
