Oceans Eleven is a terrifically fun movie and more so than quite a few of the films on this list, its very watchable. That is, however, until one big scene at the end tries its best to ruin the movie with spectacular levels of stupidity. So, the original loot that left the vault was actually filled with fake money. While Benedict rushed to catch the decoy loot, George Clooneys Danny Ocean and assorted friends casually left the venue with the real money whilst disguised as a SWAT team. But when and how could they have swapped the real money with the fake decoy? Its not an exaggeration to say that there genuinely wasnt a single second when this could have happened. Only three people entered the vault one by hiding in a trolley, and two by negotiating some lasers. None of them had a big bag of fake cash with them. Here, the script pretends to be clever by dangling an impossible scenario in front of the audience. But - seeing as theres no explanation - this isnt actually clever, its highly dumb. Its an aggravating example of deus ex machina in what could otherwise have been a fantastic film.
