Three films, thrice the stupidity. These films, sadly, arent half as clever as theyd like us to think they are. Looking past the fact that the series metaphysical premise is hardly all that original, there are still many stupid moments in these films. The idea that the sky has been scorched to stop the machines is rather silly, for starters. Without the sun, its surely not a given that Earth would continue to survive in any way. And also if the machines need a power source that gives off heat, arent there easier ways to do that then creating a super-complicated virtual reality to enslave all the humans? Couldnt you just kill all the humans and get some heat from a few billion nice placid cows instead? At the end of Matrix: Reloaded, the series also pretty much abandons its own concept by allowing Neo to have all his powers outside The Matrix, not just within the programme. This allowed for some more cool action scenes, but is a fairly dumb decision that undermines the basic fabric of the original story. We could write a whole article about the stupid things in the supposedly-smart Matrix franchise. In fact, we did.
