10 Dumbest Villain Plans In Movies

9. Poppy's Drug Monopoly - Kingsman: The Golden Circle

Kingsman: The Golden Circle was a colossally disappointing sequel, and it had a fittingly braindead villain to boot in drug kingpin Poppy Adams (Julianne Moore).

Poppy runs the titular drug cartel, and her plan to ensure an unstoppable monopoly of the global drug trade?

She's laced all of her drugs with a toxin which incapacitates and eventually kills the user, and only agrees to release the antidote if the U.S. President (Bruce Greenwood) ends America's war on drugs and grants her cartel legal immunity.

Unsurprisingly the POTUS refuses to bite, preferring to let those affected simply die in order to both put Poppy out of business and rid the world of a fleet of drug users he doesn't much care for.

But even if the U.S. did play ball, how did Poppy not appreciate that publicly admitting to the world that her drugs were poisoned would tank her "brand" overnight? Who, beyond the most desperate of addicts, would dare touch her merchandise again?

And furthermore, even if the U.S. did capitulate, what's stopping them from reneging on their promise to end the war on drugs, and if they're able, even revoking Poppy's immunity? This plan never had a single, solitary chance of working.
