La La Land may have missed out on Best Picture, but Moonlight sure didn't, and director Barry Jenkins's next movie, an adaptation of James Baldwin's acclaimed 1974 novel, has major awards plaudits written all over it.
Brad Pitt's producing which is always a plus, as he's scored three Best Picture nods over the last seven years, including a win for 12 Years a Slave.
A love story set in Harlem, the movie is said to be both devastating and ultimately hopeful, and given Jenkins' incredible knack for aching, tender humanism, he should be able to wring every last drop out of Baldwin's text.
