10 Endings That Make Movies Impossible To Rewatch

9. Oh, It's Aliens - Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull

Though it did see the welcome return of whip-cracking archaeologist adventurer Indiana Jones, Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull had a lot to live up to in its predecessors and even more so after a nigh on 20-year absence from cinema screens. Sadly, it fell way short of expectations and it wasn’t even because Shia LaBeouf was in the cast, or that ludicrous scene where Indy survives a nuclear blast by taking shelter in a fridge either.

Nope, it’s the big third act reveal that the much coveted crystal skulls of the title actually belong to a race of ancient alien beings, and though the Indiana Jones series has always had an element of supernaturality to it – be it the religious artefacts of Raiders Of The Lost Ark and The Last Crusade or the curious Hindu-voodoo hybrid in Temple Of Doom – aliens in an Indy movie is a tad unbelievable. Let’s just hope the fifth Indiana Jones movie, scheduled for release in 2019, conjures up a better ending.

Helen Jones hasn't written a bio just yet, but if they had... it would appear here.
