10 Essential Marvel Teams Not Yet Used In The Movies

5. The Illuminati

With all the Marvel properties coming together under the Disney-Fox banner, the shadowy coalition of super-intelligent and heroic to grey-moral leaders of Marvel should add a layer of intrigue to the already complex and flourishing world of super-heroing.

Standing as the basis for their dark counterpart, The Cabal, The Illuminati of Marvel comics includes characters like Charles Xavier, Tony Stark, Mister Fantastic, Black Panther, and other geniuses and leaders, coming together to make decisions for the greater good that lean towards uncomfortably amoral for people fans have long since considered heroes.

With the Disney-Fox merger bridging the gap between properties, the rise of a shadowy organisation for the good of mankind doesn't look too far off, with the Illuminati tackling world-ending and ethically complex crises, in comparison to simpler, more black and white Good Vs. Evil fights superheroes often endure.

Given that they've also tackled transdimensional issues, and the MCU cluing into dimensional or time travel, the precedent for their formation has been set, and the tension they cause with decisions that aren't always strictly heroic or morally pure can add a layer of drama and intrigue to the ever-expanding MCU.
