10 Even More Upcoming Movies That Are Already Doomed
4. Venom: The Last Dance
In 2018, Sony kicked off their non-Spider-Man universe with one of Marvel's most iconic antiheroes, Venom. Even though the first two movies were shredded by critics, they made a fortune. (The fact Venom: Let There Be Carnage quintupled its budget during the pandemic is remarkable.)
However, the failure of Morbius and Madame Web is sure to spell disaster for the symbiote saga. With Kraven the Hunter looking like another by-the-numbers schlockfest, hype for a Venom picture has never been lower.
What's worse, is Sony doesn't learn from their mistakes, since higher-ups have been more focused on creating an expanded Venom-verse than making one decent movie. The fact that Tom Holland's Spidey won't appear in Venom's third outing, despite being heavily teased in the last instalment, further highlights the franchise's lack of structure.
Although the previous entries faired well, Venom's biggest fans mightn't show up this time since it's obvious this pointless cinematic universe can't sustain itself. Also, the harsh reality of superhero fatigue is sure to make the upcoming film's ticket sales suffer, regardless of its quality.
The Last Dance is a fitting title since this property, as well as Sony's abominable Spidey-adjacent experiment, should bow out after this.
