10 Events That Changed Star Wars Forever

4. Rey Chooses Not To Sell Her New Droid Pal

Early on in J. J. Abrams' Episode VII, it's established how just about every soul in the galaxy is desperately trying to get their hands on the cute little droid known as BB-8. And with the rolling astromech carrying the map to Luke Skywalker's location, it's not hard to see why both The First Order and Resistance were willing to go to extreme lengths to bring the bot home.

However, one person who could've been forgiven for not being all that bothered about the fate of this diminutive droid was a lowly scavenger found on Jakku. With Rey stumbling upon BB-8 in the desert before eventually agreeing to let the vitally important astromech accompany her to Niima Outpost, the soon-to-be Jedi is faced with a bit of a dilemma.

After only being offered a half-portion for her salvaged goods by Unkar Plutt, that same piece of work notes how he'd be willing to pay 60 portions for the droid he recognised as the one The First Order were after. Rather than justifiably filling her belly for the foreseeable by offering up a droid she'd only just met, though, Rey thankfully did the right thing.

But in another reality, Rey would've been living her best life with all the portion bread she could eat after selling off the ball of circuits. While Kylo Ren would've no-doubt tracked down his former master and killed all hopes of the Resistance/Jedi overcoming the newest evil in the galaxy.
