10 Everyday Things You Can't Do Without Thinking Of Movies
6. Thinking Of Goodfellas Whenever You Chop Garlic
If you let Martin Scorsese's classic mob flick tell it, going to prison isn't really all that bad. Well, it's not bad if you're a "connected" mob associate. In the film, when mafia boss Paul "Paulie" Cicero (Paul Sorvino) has to spend a year in prison he doesn't pass the time by lifting weights or reading The Catcher in the Rye. Nope, he spends his time doing "prep work", chopping garlic for him and his cohorts daily feast. Paulie actually has a pretty good system, as the movie explains; "He used a razor, and he used to slice it so thin that he used to liquefy in the pan with just a little oil." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MQhBfRDd6GM You know, you've tried this system before! And if you haven't, you really should. You don't know what you're missing. Seriously, these guys eat better in prison than the majority of us eat during Thanksgiving.
