2. Twist And Shout - Ferris Bueller's Day Off

The Sound Of Music
Paramount Pictures

Ferris Bueller’s Day Off is the quintessential 1980s teen movie as it brings to life every highschooler’s fantasy of skipping school for a day and living it to the fullest. With a perfectly devised plan, Ferris is able to keep one step ahead of his principle and his sister in order to have some of the wildest adventures with Cameron and Sloane.

And whilst his whole day is filled with fun escapades we can only dream of experiencing, the absolute pinnacle is the parade scene where Ferris sings and dances to Twist and Shout. An unexpected showstopper (it wouldn’t be a John Hughes movie without one), it oversees crowds of people on their feet dancing and singing along to a joyous moment in time, and it’s likely to get you doing the same as a viewer.

Furthermore, it shows off the confidence and magnetism of the titular character who was able to pull off such a stunt. Very few other movies moments come as overwhelming happy as this one, which is why it creates a permanent place in your heart, as well as making you fall in love with Ferris Bueller.
