3. Bizarrely Not Finishing The Job - Halloween Kills

By the time of Halloween Kills, Haddonfield had spent over 40 years reeling from the actions of Michael Myers on Halloween Night 1978. With Kills picking things up in the immediate aftermath of the Shape's 2018 resurfacing, the locals of this sleepy town decide to put an end to Michael once and for all.

Mob mentality is always a questionable approach to anything, but this is Michael Myers we're talking about here; a Michael Myers who has been responsible for so much trauma for the inhabitants of Haddonfield.

Not just do this mob - led by Tommy Doyle, who was stalked by Michael as a youngster - manage to locate Myers, but they actually get the better of him. With Laurie Strode's daughter Karen having lured Michael to this group, the locals brutally beat the rogue with baseball bats, hockey sticks, 2 x 4s, tire irons, and Myers is shot several times before Karen stabs him.

Bafflingly, Karen and the mob start to walk off and leave the fallen Michael. If these Haddonfield residents had already decided they were going to kill Michael Myers, surely they'd make sure the job really was finished, no?

Of course, Michael would soon awaken, where he'd kill each of his attackers. It's tough to have any sympathy for these victims, for it's essentially their own fault.
