10 Exact Moments We Knew Horror Movie Characters Were Doomed To Die

6. Dawn Of The Dead - Norma Decides To Check On Luda

There is not one smart character in Zack Snyder's Dawn of the Dead.

Seriously, rewatching it recently I couldn't believe just how every bad thing that happens is caused by our heroes doing something seriously dumb and endangering the lives of everyone. With these bad decisions often leading to a fatality then, it becomes pretty easy to realise when a member of this ragtag group is about to die.

One of the biggest f**k ups involves Andre and his new family. See, at the start it's revealed that his heavily pregnant wife, Luda, has been bitten by a zombie, and instead of telling the group he hides her away in order to keep her alive long enough to deliver the baby.

The death of this entire family is too obvious even for this list, so instead we'll focus on Norma, an older trucker who joins the group. Late in the movie, protagonist Ana offers to check on Andre, and Norma - who has barely had a role in the story until then - awkwardly decides to go with her.

In fact, she's the first person to see what's become of the new family: a zombified Luda has been strapped to a bed, while the zombie spawn is being cradled in Andre's arms.

Knowing that - undead or not - Andre will protect his kin at all cost, it's unsurprising that he shoots Norma once she attempts to put the abominations down.
