8. The Sinister Six - The Amazing Spider-Man 2
Sony PicturesFollowing Spider-Man 3's full universe, the Amazing Spider-Man series continues its ambitious goals in setting up the eventual conflict between Spider-Man and the villainous group the Sinister Six. In The Amazing Spider-Man 2, there's finally a glimpse of what that would look like. Before the ending, the "man in the shadows" now named Gustav Fiers walks past the early developments of the Vulture, Doc Ock, and finally the Rhino all in the course of one scene. While these villains don't necessarily appear in the film (or do they?), this image is enough to pique interest in the sequels. Granted, the only surprising aspect of this image is that it was not the post-credit scene after all (ASM2 had none), but the actual presentation and potential of the super-villain team-up is in itself pretty satiating. Will it succeed? Will it fail? It's impossible to tell at this time, but the development certainly sells.
