10 Failed Movies That Actually Deserve A Reboot

6. Green Lantern

Green Lantern Do I even need to explain how this one went wrong? Martin Campbell's disappointingly straight-faced, incoherent take on one of DC's best-loved superheroes was a mess in almost every aspect; the haphazard direction, the mind-numbingly bad writing, and the dreadful visual effects. The bad decisions range from Ryan Reynolds' Green Lantern suit being completely CGI to characterising Hal Jordan as a misogynistic douchebag who was difficult to warm to (a shame, as Ryan Reynolds seemed totally up for the assignment). Reynolds acquitted himself well enough that you wouldn't even need to recast him if you didn't want to, though that may be advisable simply to erase the bad memories of last time. This reboot seems particularly urgent given the perilous status of the much-anticipated Justice League movie, which needs as many well-established characters at the helm as possible, other than just Superman (and let's not even get started on what they might do with Batman...)
