10 Fake-Out Movie Deaths Nobody Believed

1. Alien: Covenant - David

There are predictable fake-out movie deaths and then there's this.

In the infuriating Alien: Covenant, a group of colonists (and their android, Water) investigate a transmission from a mysterious planet, which is inhabited only by the sinister android David and an early version of the Xenomorph.

After a horrifying ordeal, the surviving colonists kill the aliens and Walter, who is identical to David, apparently kills David, but right at the film's end, what could be the most blindingly obvious twist ending in film history is dropped: David has disguised himself as Walter in order to escape the planet.

David might've fooled the film's rather foolish protagonists but he certainly didn't fool any viewers. The two androids were identical, David was seen cutting his hair to look more like Walter earlier on and David's apparent death at Walter's hands wasn't shown. The death of the film's most important character being off-screen was impossible to buy.

As Chandler from Friends would probably say, could this BE any more obvious?
