10 Fake-Out Movie Deaths Nobody Believed

6. Thor: The Dark World - Loki

Fine, the reveal that Loki had disguised himself as Odin at the film's end was very effective and one of the few good scenes in the MCU's worst film, but we all knew something like that was coming.

Loki is a great villain and one of the MCU's most beloved characters; there was no way he wouldn't be kept around for later films. Back then, the MCU was still known for having a bit of a villain problem, so getting rid of their only truly great villain would've been madness.

Loki is also the god of mischief who is always tricking everyone and he faked his death at the end of Thor (2011), so at this point we knew what to expect from him.

Still, Loki did a get a superbly-done permanent death scene (ignoring the version from the other timeline in Endgame) in Avengers: Infinity War.
