10 Fake-Out Movie Deaths Nobody Believed

3. Captain America: The Winter Soldier - Nick Fury

Captain America: The Winter Soldier might be one of the best superhero movies of all time, so this ridiculously obvious twist that Nick Fury had faked his death after he was apparently assassinated by the Winter Soldier in a good example of a massive flaw in an otherwise great movie.

Nick Fury is a very important character within the MCU and this out-of-nowhere death, very early on in the movie no less, just didn't feel plausible. It would be easy for someone like Fury to fake his death and Fury's 'death' is also largely forgotten throughout the rest of the film (before his return) and doesn't feel like a particularly big event, which doesn't fit in with his standing in the franchise.

This faked death did lead to a very funny Pulp Fiction Easter egg, with Ezekiel 25:17 appearing on Fury's fake grave, but other than that this twist brought little to the movie and should've been dropped.
