10 Famous Actors Who Have Resigned Themselves To Just Doing Cameos

9. Sigourney Weaver

Sigourney Weaver is arguably the actress most associated with the science-fiction genre. As Ellen Ripley, she badassed her way through four Alien movies, and is best remembered for that role and - let's face it - not many others. Now she only seems to agree to star in movies if she's in them for "a few scenes." And because of Alien, she's recently found herself cast in pretty much exactly the same cameo role in two separate movies: she played a sort of head honcho, government conspiracy leader in both Paul and then all over again The Cabin in the Woods. The point of both these cameos was that audiences were supposed to be like, "Oh, hilarious! Sigourney Weaver from Alien is the stern, suited head of this secret government agency... that's hilarious because of Alien, and Paul is about aliens!" The gag is amusing, of course... but only once. After Paul did the joke, Cabin in the Woods did the joke again - it was revealed that a stern, suited Weaver was also the head of the secret organisation in that movie, and - as in Paul - she appears at the very end. Did nobody point out that the joke had already been done?
