7. Channing Tatum - G.I. Joe: The Rise Of Cobra
Channing Tatum used to be something of a joke; now he's one of the most marketable actors of recent times, having gone from doing dumb street dance movies to Oscar contenders such as Foxcatcher. Heck, he was even named as the second-highest paid actor in the world back in 2013. It's the very definition of "career resurgence," and there's a sense that, recently, Tatum has become far pickier with the roles that he chooses to take on. What the heck happened with G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra, though? Why did he agree to star in such inevitably bad blockbuster movie just as his career was beginning to take off? I was pushed into doing ," Tatum candidly revealed during a radio interview. "From Coach Carter, they signed me to a three-picture deal. And as a young , youre like, Oh my god, that sounds amazing.' Time goes by and you get other jobs and youre building your quote and you have a dream job you want to do. And then the studio calls up and theyre like, Hey, we got a movie for you, were going to send it to you.' And its G.I. Joe." When he tried to pull out, the studio - Paramount Pictures - threatened to sue him. Thus, he had no choice but to appear. Interesting, he also made an appearance in the sequel, G.I. Joe: Retaliation - presumably as a result of more threats from Paramount to sue.
