4. Chloe Grace Moretz - The Amityville Horror
Then Younger still than DiCaprios debut is Chloe Grace Moretz in the awful remake of The Amityville Horror, one of a spate of subpar remakes by Platinum Dunes. At the tender age of 8 Moretz plays the daughter in a family of five who move into the long accursed house in Amityville. She gives a solid performance for her age, being mature enough for the role but childlike enough for the impact to still be there. Unfortunate this impact was marred by most other elements in the film, and its merits are heavily outweighed by its myriad faults. But enough of that, Moretz does a good job.
Now Moretz earned a young actors award nomination in her role in Amityville, before seeing fame through 500 Days of Summer and Diary of a Wimpy Kid. Moretz then shot into the spotlight in a spectacularly controversial manner while playing Hitgirl in unconventional superhero comedy Kick Ass. Moretz is fast talking, badass and fantastically brutal in the role she is set to return to this year, and she quite rightly has seen similar success in many other roles since, including the acclaimed Hugo.
