3. Jim Carrey - Once Bitten
Then It may shock you at first to hear that A-list funnyman Jim Carreys first major role was in a vampiric horror film, but never fear - it was a horror comedy about Carrey trying to get his rocks off so that glamorous vampire Lauren Hutton cant drink his virgin blood. Only Carrey could have a start so ridiculous. The film didnt do particularly well, nor was it particularly impressive, but from what my limited memory can tell me it did provide a few decent laughs. Watching Carrey struggle with the early symptoms of vampirism during the film is a sign of what was to come from the iconic comedian (take that whichever way you want).
Now Carreys career needs no introductions, nor does it need any in depth descriptions. Liar Liar, Bruce Almighty, Cable Guy, Yes Man, Ace Ventura, The Mask, Man on the Moon, The Truman Show - Like Bill Murray before him, Carrey dominated a whole decade of comedy with his box office and critical successes. Carrey has rarely strayed from his comfort zone of comedy, his closest role to a return to horror being the flop that was The Number 23 (or the frankly horrifying viral love video he made for Emma Stone), and he seems content to stay there with his upcoming roles in Kick Ass 2 and the confirmed Dumb and Dumber sequel.
