1. Aston Martin DB5 (James Bond)

If you thought that the DeLorean was pricey, then James Bond would like a word.

Another car that is strongly associated with a movie series, the Aston Martin DB5 has, since the 1960s, been intrinsically tied to the James Bond franchise, and was most recently seen in Spectre, where it had a quick cameo.

Needless to say, they're insanely expensive cars, and the ones that have actually been used in the filming of the movies blow their less-famous siblings out of the water in terms of price. In 2010, a DB5 used during the production of Goldfinger and Thunderball sold for a mind-blowing $4.6 million (£3.6 million), a massive step up from the $12,000 it sold for in 1969.

This was no ordinary DB5, either: it came fitted with guns that poked out through the tail lights, a rotating number plate, and a removable roof panel. While it probably wouldn't be wise to use any of these features on the road, it's incredible that they remained intact for so many years, truly making the car a Bond-level gadget.

Danny has been with WhatCulture for almost nine years, and is currently Doctor Who Editor and WhoCulture Channel Manager, overseeing all of WhatCulture's Whoniverse coverage. He has been writing and video editing for 10+ years, and first got a taste for content creation after making his own Doctor Who trailers and uploading them to YouTube (they're admittedly a bit rusty by today's standards). If you need someone to recite every Doctor Who episode in order or to tell you about the making of 1988's Remembrance of the Daleks, Danny is the person to ask.
