9. The German Military Operation In Egypt Makes No Sense (Because The English Were There!) - Raiders of The Lost Ark
All right, so
Raiders of the Lost Ark is a serial-inspired adventure story with melting Nazi heads and a guy who uses a burn scar on his hand to track down an ancient artifact, but we can believe those things because they're mostly awesome. Steven Spielberg and company sure did take a few liberties with the historical timeframe of their picture, though, which becomes apparent when you realise that it involves the German military having a a large presence in Egypt in 1936. Which would have been fine, had the British military not
already been occupying Egypt at this time in history - you know, to guard the Suez Canal against Italian-controlled Libya. And although we might be able to suspend our disbelief enough to believe that thousands and thousands of German tropes might have been able to sneak into Cairo to undertake such a large operation, we... well, wait a minute. No. We can't see that happening at all.
