10 Famous Movies That Would Have Been Better Off With Their First Choice Actors

6. Chris Farley As Shrek - Shrek

Now this is an odd one, I'll admit. Shrek originally had its first choice actor in place - Chris Farley - and he recorded close to 80% of the dialogue before he died. Unfortunately, as we all know, he passed away before he could complete the project. Mike Myers, one of Farley's close friends, took over the role and that's the character we know today. Shrek is a decent film, it has a few laughs and it's at least different to most of the other animated films released around the time, in that it had humour for all ages - some subtle and some not so subtle. But just think of how much better it could've been with Chris Farley voicing Shrek. It would've been something in a completely different league. And if you're thinking that the film would be exactly the same, it wouldn't. After Farley's death, Dreamworks and Myers decided to tone down some elements of the dark humour and make it a bit more family friendly, as well as give Shrek a Scottish accent. The only remaining sign of Chris Farley's involvement is just how much of a facial resemblance they have to one other.
