10 Famous Movies That People Still Believe Are Cursed
2. The Exorcist
One more entry to suggest that you really, really shouldn't mess around with the devil. The Exorcist is scary enough, but when you factor in all of the strange and eerie incidents that happened on the set and to the cast and crew, it adds a whole other layer of creepiness. Many of the principals swear, to this day, that the film is cursed. There are so many incidents related to the production that have added to the 'cursed' tag, such as the entire set (minus Regan's room) catching fire one night and having to be rebuilt entirely, or when actress Ellen Burstyn suffered a back injury when a stunt man threw her to the floor. And all this after director William Friedkin brought in a priest to bless the set several times. But it is the high number of deaths that the production saw that really began to turn heads (pardon the pun). Depending on who you speak to, between four and ten people during production or shortly thereafter. That's a high number for any production and, given the nature of the material, a lot of people began to suspect it might be the work of the devil. It was just coincidence though, right? Guys?
