10 Famous Movies That People Still Believe Are Cursed

7. The Omen

Has any film in history had worse luck than The Omen? Before filming began star Gregory Peck's son killed himself and then on the way to the set Peck's plane was hit by lightning. Scriptwriter David Seltzer's plane was also struck by lightning. As was executive producer Mace Nuefeld's. Okay, so three separate planes were hit by lightning? That is certainly unusual and highly improbable. Luckily, nobody was hurt. Neufeld also appeared unscathed after the IRA bombed a hotel that he was staying at during production. The IRA also bombed a restaurant that the director Richard Donner and actors (including Peck) were scheduled to eat at. These weird occurrences turned tragic when the assistant to special effects consultant John Richardson died in a car crash in Holland. Richardson (who was driving the car) climbed out of the wreckage and saw the sign on the road: "Omenn, 66.6km". All of these events don't necessarily point towards a curse and were actually blown out of proportion by the 20th Century Fox publicity department in an attempt to sell the movie to the public. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=zmsNWmKqsAY
