10 Famous Movies That Became Too Real

3. Man Murders Friend In Order To Become Immortal Vampire - Queen Of The Damned

Things just get weirder and weirder from here on in. This truly bizarre story hails from 2002, at a time when a man named Allan Menzies decided to stab one of his best friends - Thomas McKendrick - to death because he claimed that a character in Queen of the Damned (a vampire movie based on the novel by Anne Rice) instructed him to do so. In case you haven't seen the movie, that's exactly what it's all about. Menzies was under the impression that, having completed his task, he would be resurrected as a vampire in his next life. That's not all: he admitted to having been visited in the night by the infamous vampire queen Akasha, who laid out the orders. Menzies also claimed to have watched Queen of the Damned more than 100 times, which might just be the craziest part of this tale - the movie sucks. Menzies didn't just stab his friend to death, by the way; once the job was done, he drank his blood and ate part of Thomas' head. Then he buried his body in a grave. You just can't make this stuff up.
