10 Famous People You Forgot Were In Jean-Claude Van Damme Movies

9. Rob Schneider- Knock Off (1998)

Replicant Movie
TriStar Pictures

1998’s Knock Off is considered amongst fans as one of Van Damme’s worst movies. It's not nearly as bad The Order (2001), but it is hard to follow, and that's because it’s difficult to invest in anything going on. Rob Schneider plays Tommy Hendricks, partner to fashion designer and Hong Kong king of knock offs Marcus Ray (JCVD), selling counterfeit jeans. Tommy, however, is an undercover CIA agent.

It’s up to this unlikely duo (with the aid of Lela Rochon) to stop an international terrorist plot involving exploding counterfeit merchandise. Somebody somewhere felt that Van Damme needed a comedy sidekick and they chose Rob Schneider, presumably due to his role in Judge Dredd (1995).

Knock Off has a lot of twists and turns that JCVD fans were just not accustomed to when sitting down to watch one of his movies. That’s not a dig, but if you're used to the basic revenge driven action he offers, it becomes hard to keep up with all the names, fake names and reveals. The action is actually great, director Hark Tsui (Once Upon a Time in China), is the saving grace here, bringing some splendid action to and otherwise ridiculous flick.
