10 Famous People You Forgot Were In Jean-Claude Van Damme Movies

Live and Let Live, Moonraker, The Spy Who Loved Me. Alan Partridge’s favourite Bond found himself sharing the screen with Jean-Claude Van Damme in 1996. Sir Roger plays the slippery Lord Edgar Dobbs in The Quest. This is a movie that's a fine watch, but there's no doubt it was little more than an attempt to recapture the magic of Bloodsport (including a writing credit for Frank Dux).

Van Damme returns to tournament fighting as Dubois. The prize for winning this kumite - the Ghang-gheng - is a golden dragon artifact that Dobbs wants. Dobbs runs into Dubos, having previously sold him into slavery, and sees what a great fighter he has become. So, Dobbs buys Dubois’ freedom back so he can compete in the Ghang-gheng, representing the USA.

In his autobiography, Sir Roger was not kind in his reminiscence of The Quest, expressing what a disorganised mess production was. The former 007 also made his feelings about Van Damme known, referring to him as “Jean-Claude Venereal Disease”. Despite all this, and a weak script, Moore puts in a great performance.
