10. The Octopus Attack - The Goonies
Towards the end of The Goonies theres a strange moment where Data the resident tech kid talks about meeting an octopus on the adventure. This encounter didnt happen in the film so it was strange he decided to make it up; hed just had a pretty incredible adventure anyway. Then word started to spread of a scene in the television version where the group do fight an octopus, yet most people wrote it off as a myth. Its existence was confirmed when it landed on the DVD, with the scene taking place after the gang slide down the waterfall. The beast attacks Stef who is saved by Data when he puts a walkman in its mouth. It quickly swims or maybe dances away. The legend of this scene was much better than the reality. The octopus effects are terrible plus it looks like the kids are moving the limbs around to give it some animation. It doesn't work as a comedy or a scary scene so its easy to see why it was taken out.
